Life, Dreams, and Motorsport: Andrey Korostelev's Jorney to Blockchain Sports Motorsport

Motorcycle racing is more than just a sport; it's a way of life for many who pursue the thrill of speed, the challenges of the track, and the camaraderie of the racing community. One such passionate individual is Andrey Korostelev, a racing pilot and the driving force behind BCS Motorsport's latest initiative—creating a motor academy to nurture future talent. Andrey, a multiple SuperMoto champion and a seasoned racer, now plays a dual role as both a rider and business developer for the motor academy. This insightful interview shows his dedication to the sport and desire to help aspiring racers achieve their dreams.

In our conversation with Andrey, we explore his personal connection to the BCS Motorsport project, his thoughts on preparing for high-stakes championships, and what it takes to be a successful racer both on and off the track. Andrey shares his experiences, shedding light on the physical and mental preparation required for racers, the importance of equipment, and his vision for the upcoming motorcycle academy.

Why are you close to the project and take part in it?

Andrey has been involved in motorcycle racing since his youth, and his journey through the sport is both inspiring and full of valuable lessons. He trained tirelessly and eventually assembled a team of 10 pilots who competed in various championships, gaining invaluable experience along the way. However, he realized something was missing.

"There was always this thought," Andrey reflects, "that if we had someone to guide us, give direction, or even sponsor us, we could have developed much faster. So, when I was invited to join the BCS Motorsport team and learned about their goal of helping riders who have the talent but lack the financial means, it really resonated with me. It reminded me of my own journey, and I immediately wanted to be part of it."

For Andrey, the essence of the Blockchain Sports Ecosystem —supporting young, ambitious racers who dream of making it big in motorsport — hit close to home.

His own background as a racer who had to navigate the sport without much external support gave him a unique perspective, and he is now committed to helping others avoid the obstacles he once faced.

Let's talk about championships: what should a pilot think about before the start of a race?

Andrey emphasizes that a racer should focus solely on the mental aspect before a race, leaving the technical concerns behind. "From a technical point of view, you shouldn't think about anything right before the race," Andrey advises. "It can be demoralizing and prevent you from giving your best performance. Those first couple of laps are for making sure everything is okay with the bike, but you shouldn't be worrying about tire pressure or settings in the moments leading up to the start."

Instead, the key to success lies in psychological preparation. According to Andrey, a pilot must remain calm and relaxed, allowing them to tap into their full potential during the race. "If you approach the race in a calm, collected mode, you're more likely to perform at your best. If you start thinking about overtaking, contact, or the struggle ahead, you'll stress yourself out prematurely. The combat mode should only switch on when you're on the starting line, not before."

What mode do you have? How do you prepare yourself physically and how do racers in general need to prepare for the race?

While Andrey is no stranger to the physical demands of racing, he approaches it with a balanced, general fitness regimen. "I don't have a specific task to prepare just for the race," he explains. "I keep myself fit overall by running, swimming, and cycling. It's all about feeling good and being in shape."

One critical area that racers often overlook, Andrey notes, is nutrition. "Your weight matters more than people realize. In the off-season, you have to eat quality food, but in moderation. One kilogram of extra weight can mean a horsepower less on the track. The more you weigh, the more fuel you consume, and the faster your tires wear out."

During competitions, however, it's essential to maintain proper fuel for the body. "At the moment of competition, you need to eat enough—not to the point where you're overstuffed, but never feeling hungry either."

A couple of words about technique: what kind of bike should be for racing?

When it comes to the equipment that powers the sport, Andrey believes that balance is everything.

"A race bike should be balanced, beautiful, ergonomic, and comfortable. It needs to have enough power and excellent braking capabilities—those are non-negotiable. The suspension system is also crucial because it needs to support you during braking."

And what kind of bikes are you planning to build for the Spanish motorcycle school?

As part of the new motoacademy, Andrey and the team at BCS Motorsport have specific plans for the types of bikes that will be used for training young riders. "We’re working with a range of brands for different levels of training," he shares.

IMR

"This Spanish brand is ideal for beginners. We'll build reliable mini GP bikes for use on go-kart tracks and playgrounds, perfect for young riders who are just starting out."

Beon

"For the more advanced level, we’ll use Beon motorcycles, designed for 12 to 13-year-olds. These bikes are the first step for riders who are ready to transition to larger tracks."

Alpha Racing

"This will be used primarily for teachers. It’s an analog to Beon, but more advanced in terms of capabilities."

Andrey Korostelev’s journey in motorsport is a testament to the passion and dedication required to succeed in this demanding field. His role in Blockchain Sports Motorsport and the upcoming motor academy underscores his commitment to fostering the next generation of racers. Through careful training, attention to both physical and mental preparation, and the use of top-tier XR technologies, Andrey and his team aim to provide young talents with the tools and guidance they need to excel.

The world of motorcycle racing is not just about speed; it's about precision, strategy, and resilience.

Thanks to Andrey’s expertise and vision, aspiring racers will have the opportunity to follow their dreams, armed with the knowledge and support they need to thrive. Blockchain Sports Motorsport is more than a project—it’s a gateway for future champions.
