Motorsport competition in virtual space: The near future with Blockchain Sports

VR (Virtual Reality) is one of the core technologies of modern education. However, as metaverse technology emerges, VR becomes a key entry point into digital reality, where people worldwide can connect and do almost anything. One of the widely developing directions of VR technology, emerges in virtual sports and competitions, especially in dangerous sports like motorsport.

Blockchain Sports Motorsport project develops VR solutions that will allow motorsport competitions in the metaverse on the highest levels. Wearing a special suit and using special equipment simulating a motorcycle, riders can compete on the digital tracks anywhere in the world. At the same time, spectators can watch the competition in the metaverse from the comfort of their homes. So, let’s review why we need to transition motorsport into virtual space and what it will be like for riders, sports organizations, and spectators.

Advantages of VR technologies for riders and motorsport organizations

The simulator will not only provide a safer and more cost-effective training environment for riders, but it will also transform the sport for organizers and fans.

Traditional motorcycle racing is dangerous. In contrast, our simulator offers a revolutionary alternative, allowing riders to push their limits in a controlled environment, significantly reducing the risk of injury for both riders and track personnel. In contrast to traditional motorsports training, the riders can train multiple times a day without wearing off the tires, brakes, and other spare parts of a real motorcycle. Additionally, the VR motosport training does not depend on the weather conditions and expensive motorcycles. However, the riders will be able to choose any weather condition, motorcycle parameters, and tracks to prepare for different conditions.

Thus, the virtual motor racing is crucial for riders to develop their skills to the fullest.

Motorcycle racing involves significant travel and logistical expenses. The VR simulator being developed by the Blockchain Sports Motosport project could drastically cut costs by allowing riders to compete on any track, regardless of location virtually.  For race organizers, the simulator eliminates the logistical hurdles and significant expenses associated with traditional races. They can design more races with global participation and even introduce creative virtual elements.

Benefits for motorsports fans

Fans will benefit from unprecedented access and a more engaging experience. They can attend races virtually from anywhere in the world, at a fraction of the cost of traditional travel. The simulator offers a variety of viewing formats, from immersive VR experiences in specialized centers to watching from the comfort of their couch. Virtual reality allows fans to transcend physical limitations and choose their vantage point, feeling closer to the action than ever before.

Our technology creates a win-win situation for everyone involved. It fosters a more accessible and exciting motorsport experience, pushing the boundaries of what's possible for both athletes and fans.

The race experience extends beyond traditional roles. We're developing exciting VIP activities, including the chance to feel the emotions and see through the eyes of legendary bakers like Fabio Quartararo, Jorge Martín, and Marc Márquez. Imagine stepping into his shoes with a VR simulator – see the track through his eyes, experience the thrill of the race, learn from his mistakes, and live the championship from the inside out – a far cry from watching from the stands or a screen.

Summary

VR technologies are the future of motorsports benefiting all the parties: riders, organizers, and fans. It offers more safe, cost-effective, and immersive experiences that take place in the digital space. With the technologies being developed on the Blockchain Sports Motorsport project:

  • Fans will be able to connect to the digital track from anywhere in the world, with an Internet connection. Besides, the most adhered fans can get first-person race experience, seeing the race with the eyes of their favorite motor riders.
  • Organizations will cut costs on the moto racing ground preparations, stuff, motorbikes, and other expenses related to real-life events.
  • Riders will compete in a more safe environment without losing the feeling of a real race.
